their father's sons, the Brothers Doonican
found a bunch of musicians with a bizzarely similar love of knitwear and with identical surnames!!!
For one very rare show they were known
only by the moniker of
'The Hired Guns'

Not much archive footage exists of The Bar-Steward Sons & The Hired Guns' only concert. These three songs were recorded on an old cine-camera
at the Elsecar Heritage Centre when The Hired Guns played with Scott & Alan when supporting The Bay City Rollers on April 15th 2011.
Sadly, the venue was so cavernous that most of the footage is overburdened by the natural reverb of the room...
however, despite sounding like the band are playing at the bottom of a well, these short clips show them sounding raw and ready after only one rehearsal!
