At Home With The Doonicans
The Feature-Length TV Special
(2007)
'AT HOME WITH THE DOONICANS' was filmed by-and-large in four locations:
Scott's house, Danny's house, Alan's mobile library and The Barley Mow, Bonsall (where all the live sections are filmed).
We thought it would be a lot of fun for people who came to our gigs to be able to take away something a little more interesting than a CD, so we began the task of filming each of our live shows until we captured one where the atmosphere was perfect.
Then we filmed intimate interviews with the band, revealing more about ourselves than we do on stage, and also got a few showbiz friends to give their views on BS/VD too. After filming our own Spaghetti Western video for 'This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us' and creating a Bagpuss inspired video for 'The Ballad Of The Bar-Steward Sons' it was finished.
The end result was this TV documentary-style concert-film, which won us an Oscar for 'Best Film Featuring Knitwear' an accolade that the Academy created especially for us in 2007.
This DVD has now SOLD OUT, but you can watch it all for nowt here on the website!
